I have been thinking that the page rank was not of much worth, but after reading this article i have changed my mind.PR really matters for the domainers and for reselling value of our domain.

I like how you put it ItsSri, very true – book/newspaper… that’s exactly how most sites are looked at. I guess what I was trying to say is that WE don’t really know how/why google assigned a particular PR to a site. Only google knows (and maybe the actual site owner has some idea). But once that site/domain goes down… and a domainer picks up that domain – he/she doesn’t really know why it has a PR. Obviously doing some research and checking places like wayback.com helps to see what the site was before.

Btw, my sites certainly not PR6 lol I wish it was. You’re not the first person to say that though. I’ve had a few people asking how I got a PR5 or 6!?! I wonder why its showing up like that to some people?! Maybe a sign of things to come lol….

A website becomes popular if either it has regularly updated content like a newspaper or it has great reference value like a book. Google page-rank is intended to reflect these qualities, but the abuse has made Google revise its algorithms. Thanks for reminding! I agree, PR still matters, because Google is trying to tell us the real quality of a site. So, webmasters and domainers will do well to think in terms of putting quality content on the site – like you have it here on this site – and also the reason I continue reading and commenting. Hey, I just noticed, you are PR6!

PR really still matter. Especially for those in domain world. At least try to keep PR of your domain

I still think page rank is important, if you want to develop your domains or at least make them into mini sites. But if you just want to flip domains, page rank do not matter.

PR is no much worth buying PR domains and not developing is just waste as it may loose pr

Very interesting article indeed. According to my experiences PR do help a lot if your domain is more brandable and less generic. However if you own a gem like sports.com then don’t worry a bit about PR

If you ask me, pagerank is only important when it comes to indexing web pages. A page with a high pagerank gets indexed frequently. But pagerank doesn’t necessarily bring in high google search ranks.

i always believed that PR wasnt that important… i guess it actualyl is, especialyl when in the market for domain names. thanks for the tips, i was hopign to get into this business!
